Even if you are not participating as a volunteer in the volunteer program at the Sea Turtle Conservation Project, you can still participate in the turtle releases that happen about once a week during the conservation season, May-December.
If you have never done it before, or if you have, you know it is an uplifting experience to hold a newly hatched baby sea turtle and cheer it on as it makes its journey across the sand to the sea...

This is one of the best places I've ever been to. The beach directly in front of the hostel is gorgeous. The tents located in the back of property were awesome. They have nice, comfortable beds placed in them and you wake up to the sound of birds chirping. The family who run the place are very warm and welcoming and couldn't have made us feel any more at home. I HIGHLY recommend this place! It was by far our favorite stay on the whole Osa Peninsula. The 3 meals a day they cook are delicious. I plan on returning sometime within the next few years.
Just an awesome place to relax right on the incredible Drake Bay. Amazing rainforest and scenic views all around. The staff is super nice and outgoing. You will feel at home on the hammocks overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
I can't recommend Life for Life (and the people who make it such an incredible place!) enough. If you're looking for a really authentic experience in Costa Rica, away from the tourism, filled with nature and wildlife, this is the place to go.
